Brandenburg state capital Potsdam, located on the southwest outskirts of Berlin, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. The charming landscape with attractive castles and historic parks, which are a UNESCO World Heritage since 1990, attracts every year thousands of visitors from around the world.

The city of Dresden (capital of the Free State of Saxony) is picturesquely situated on both sides of the Elbe on the outskirts of the eastern Ore Mountains. The over 800 year old city, also known as the Florence of the Elbe, is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany with a rich baroque architecture and numerous cultural attractions. In the old town you can find the Semper Opera, the Zwinger, the Old Masters Picture Gallery and Frauenkirche. Beyond the Elbe, the lively new town is located, with old houses, restaurants and trendy bars.

Leipzig is located about 2 hours south of Berlin in the state of Saxony.

Leipzig is a city of books and music. Musicians such as Bach, Mendelssohn and Schumann, and publishers such as Baedeker, Brockhaus and Reclam have worked here. The Boys Choir and the Gewandhaus Orchestra have world fame.
Firmly combined with Leipzig is the Leipzig Fair, especially the Leipzig Book Fair in March each year. A special attraction is the Leipzig Christmas market in December, one of the largest in Germany.

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp is located about 40 minutes north of Berlin.
